This is a hand dyed superwash merino/biodegradable nylon blend (85/15), perfect for anything from socks to shawls. Each skein contains 100 gram/430 meters.
From the producer of this yarn: A new innovation in fibre technology, biodegradable nylon breaks down completely and produces a much lower environmental impact than regular nylon. Unlike regular nylon, that takes decades to decompose, biodegradable nylon takes only about five years to break down completely under landfill conditions. Biodegradable nylon does not decompose during standard use and is just as strong and durable as regular nylon until it is disposed of to landfill.
Please note that no two skeins of hand dyed yarns are alike, and for larger projects it is recommended that you alternate between skeins every other row, to avoid pooling.
Dark and color intense skeins may have a slight color bleed in the beginning. This is only excess dye, and it should be a minimum of coloring in the water during washing. However, to be on the same side, I do recommend you wash these items separately the first couple of times, or with similar colors.
Recommended Needle Size: 2.25 - 4.0 mm needles
Gauge (stocking stitch): 28 sts x 36 rows over 10cm/4 inches on 3.25 mm needles.
